This past weekend I got the opportunity to celebrate a baby bump for the first time with my camera!  With all my clients I send them a question sheet that helps me gain a little insight on who they are and what they want captured.  This mama shared that she loved cereal during her pregnancy.  Since I was a tad nervous about a maternity shoot -given I typically have children in the pictures and they seem to run the show...I knew that there may be a little more posing and less of a natural lifestyle shoot.  We did a few shots in the nursery and the front room.  They were cozy on their bed.  We found unique light in the upstairs hallway.  

And then I had them settle down for a bowl of cereal!  And then I was able to relax, because I felt the natural that I love to photograph!  I think they probably thought the whole cereal thing odd...but looking at the pictures I love these.  The light on the mama's belly.  The look the soon to be papa is giving her.  The relaxed feet up on the chair...and when she looks at this picture she will remember a time when meals were quiet, they could gaze at each other, they could finish sentences, and that she loved cereal! haha :)  After your world is rocked with the arrival of a baby - you think back to the days before baby and I honestly can't remember what I did or how we functioned without the chaos.  So I hope these cereal themed pictures remind them! 

Any day now that bump will no longer be the focus.  Soon, they will have a scrunched up little being to love and gaze at.  What an adventure they are about to embark on together!  And cereal won't be a craving...but the go to meal because, it is quick, easy, and can be eaten with a baby laying across your chest sleeping to your heartbeat.
