Last week I caught up with these lovely ladies!  Growing up WAY too fast and getting more and more beautiful, inside and out!

They were raring to go when I pulled up!  Taking selfies to prepare with their phones or ipods or something.  I didn't have to do much for this shoot.  They knew what they wanted to do and I just had fun letting them do their teen thing!  They are so lucky to have each other and I can tell the adventures they have are probably incredible!

I often have friends with older children say they don't know what they would do for a session with me.  Their kids are too big to read books on a blanket.  What story could I possibly tell....Here are a handful of portraits..some are just some nice frame updates, but in the mix are a few that are TOTALLY Kate and Emma.  Who they are right now sneak out.  And at the end we went for ice cream and it was a perfect little story to tell that brought out the most natural of their smiles.  And their pup Murphy came along and I don't think they will ever regret capturing some with him in it.  Those pups are like family members and I am always up for including them in the session.  They often bring out the biggest smiles.

So if you are stumped about a story I could tell....well, let's go for a boat ride, let's build a bonfire and roast marshmallows, let's cook out in your backyard, let's eat ice cream cones, watermelon, or lollipops.  You could bake cookies or pancakes as a family.  Play a board game at a picnic table.  Rent a canoe on Cleary Lake for the hour.  The possibilities are endless!  I really do think that doing a little something during your time with me helps everyone losen up and the real beauty in the story of your family shines through!  Hey moms and dad, have a beer and let your kiddos play chalk in your driveway.  We could get out the sprinkler and play on your swing set.  Give it some thought :)  The possibilities are endless.

And now some of my favorites!

This is them :)

Growing up with the word "selfie" in their vocabulary.

And I will always try and convince mom to get in the picture if she is there!

And probably my very favorite image of these two...This is the one I would hang up big on my wall.  I just love it.

Thanks ladies for a fun evening!  I think I was grinning as big on my side of the camera as you were on your side!
