Last week I got an email from a proud papa who had a little girl with some news to share!  

Their family of three was now four!  She became a big sister!  And I was so excited to be the one to capture their new NOW.  

I was a tad nervous since dad was surprising mom (dad of the year award) and my style involves mom being in pictures and after giving birth I want to know that mom is on board, but how everything happened just was so natural and real.  If they had been perfectly ready when I arrived, I wouldn't have been able to capture this story...starting with dad getting big sis dressed and mama putting in pig tails.  

And then I got to meet this little fellow!  Who was so chill and relaxed.  Newborn sessions with Sarah Ann Photography mean you get to stay home and not feel the pressure of getting all perfect and being somewhere on time.  You get to go with your new flow and I come to you.  We capture the new little person in their natural setting.  Surrounded by those they love, immersed in their new world, with a backdrop of their home.  

Siblings get to be there.  We work everyone into the moments and capture the feelings and new realities of the family's life.

We capture all the tiny and so much more! 

You can get a glimpse of what the real looks like when you get your gallery of pictures!  No longer will dad be "off duty" when mama is "on duty" because now there are two little people who will be craving attention.  And until they can both be plopped in the bath, these two will no longer be tag teaming, but trading to make sure both little ones get what they need!  But often, all in the same room, enjoying the moments, together.

And family story time with little brother right there along for the ride.

Not sure if mama noticed this moment, but I did.  While reading daughter naturally reached up and just placed that little hand on her shoulder.  

Sigh.  Just love it.  Along with the crown, sparkle shoes....and there he is, little brother calm and quiet because he hears all the voices he has been hearing these last 9 months.  

There is time to be silly!  

And show muscles...but look at the joy on mama's face back there!  LOVE!  

While mama and son went to nurse, I got to hang out with big sis!  So we captured her doing her thing!  Piano, princesseses, and more!  And when little brother appeared again, we snapped up more of his wee little self.  His lip just slays me.  It is soooo adorable!  

3 + 1 = 4

A happy and cozy family of four!  I am so honored to have been invited in to capture this special time in their life.  

If you know someone who is adding a new little person or hasn't had their "now" captured, send them my way.  I LOVE capturing feelings, moments, and the beauty in the extraordinary moments that are your real life.  Newborn sessions are best scheduled during the first 10 days of the new little one's life.  Sessions last 2-3 hours to give time for rocking, feeding, changing, and rests.  Parents and siblings are very much a part of the session.
