For Miss Emerson's 18 month pictures mom and dad planned to keep things real and had me come hang out in their backyard.  Most evenings are spent out in the back running around and watching her burn the last of her day's energy before bath time and bedtime.  

It has been a few sessions since Miss Emerson smiled more than she gave me the stare down.  Letting her go from her playhouse, to her swing, to bubbles, back to her swing, and ending with her favorite treat meant she had the power...and the smiles came naturally and almost constantly.  It was so much fun.  

Looking back in years to come I think these pictures will bring her parents back to the time when the mention of ice cream gave this girl a smile that was almost too big for her adorable little face.  Her daddy gave the biggest pushes and her mama was always there for  quick reassuring pick ups and hugs.  

I think people forget that there is so much beauty in your everyday.  And so often we get so busy and are hustling about that we don't get to step back and realize the big picture.  The picture that shows your family, doing their everyday thing, in the place that you will always want to remember.  And the pictures can be just as beautiful, if not more, than hunkering down on a blanket in a field.  THESE are the pictures I wish I had of my Charley at this age.  

And if you have a pet let them be around.  Let me capture them.  Because we all know they are very important parts to the family and a good picture of them will forever warm your heart.  Once again, Kelly and Aaron, thank you for welcoming me into your home and trusting me to capture your sweet girl!
