I grew up on Lake Michigan and my husband grew up on Lake Superior.  When we go visit his parents we get to spend time in the town and place that is filled with his past and memories.  My parents moved from the town I grew up in when I was in college and I don't get back there...really, ever.  And home is definitely where my parents are and I have fallen in love with their new quaint and perfect little town.  But I have always wanted to take my kids back to my my stomping grounds and have them see where I grew up.  

We moved to Sheboygan when I was in third grade and my dad would take us to the lake and have us run the dunes most nights of the week.....until we started putting up too much of a battle I think.  And when the dune running wasn't thrilling anymore then we would watch the wave report and high tail it over to the beach when the waves were high and we could ride them.  When I got old enough I would bike to the beach with friends.  Watching my kids run and play and yell "This is the best place ever." brought tears to my eyes and made me realize what a gift it was to live so close to such awesome natural entertainment.  

We had no sand toys and they were happy for the 3 hours we roamed and explored.  Here are a few of my favorite moments...some are in color and black and white because I couldn't decide.
