An Evening with the V family from Sarah Wroblewski on Vimeo.

I always shoot families with a very natural style.  I like to think I capture moments, rather than perfectly posed pictures.  Sarah Ann Photography isn't your gal if you want everyone's hands placed perfectly, sitting up straight, and smiling straight at the camera.  I love to get everyone cozy and let everyone relax...while I putter with my camera...but, really am capturing the golden moment when everyone is relaxed and not worrying about me.

Like here...

And then seconds later we get this one...

Now these were probably the most posed I got this session.  Often I will help families navigate through a shoot.  But for this session I was there to document their summer fun.  I asked Kristen what are some things they like to do as a family and she replied that summer evenings often involve pool time, grilling, and a fire with s'mores.  So I said, "Let's do it."  We chatted about the flow a bit and then off they went.  I hung out and snapped up moments... with the hope of giving them a story of Sunday evenings in Summer.

This stage in life has them in the throws of parenthood.  With a 7 year old, 5 year old, and 8 month old they are embracing lots of girl energy.  They were all VERY mellow for me...until they started jumping on couches.  I think mom knows that next time they need their girls to spend 2+ hours quiet and calm...have Sarah come over with her camera.  Seriously, they were perfect....too perfect. I was hoping for a little tantrum :)

So here is their Sunday Summer Story in pictures....

As this fall rolls around and you start to think about booking a fall family session to update your family photos....ponder the thought of an at home storytelling session.  These sessions can be unique to you.  I can be a fly on the wall or there and guiding you along.   We will work together to plan some time that will allow for your "now" to be captured.  Moments.  Happy.  Real.  And we can throw in a few family portraits too.   You can rake leaves, carve pumpkins, roast marshmallows, bake cookies, visit an orchard, play a board game, have pizza, take a wagon ride around the block, or enjoy the cool evening in your driveway.  Yes, park sessions with pretty backgrounds are nice...but, when you really look back in a few years...a session like this will truly bring you right back to this time.  Throw all the images into a photo book and it will become your children's favorite bedtime story right NOW.  Promise!!!!
