Last week I took my small tribe of three to the zoo.  Most of the time we meet people at the zoo...fun for the kids to explore with friends and I LOVE to chat with a friend as we meander through the zoo.  But this time, we went just us.  I am taking a storytelling photography class and so I had my camera strapped on in hopes of capturing our zoo story.  I realized during our walk that the zoo is a perfect family adventure to have Sarah Ann Photography capture for you.  There are so many moments that happen at the zoo...all moods and emotions are felt and so often mom or dad is carrying the camera and is either too busy or too distracted to snap up some of the best moments.  So let me join you and capture a summer memory that will last a life time.  Here are some of my favorite shots from our morning.  

When I head to the zoo I have my camera ready.  I have to be ready for the rare chance that my kids can take in an amazing moment without strangers in the frame.  And I got lucky, A LOT, this trip.  Sometimes, it means standing back and watching for a bit.  But, totally worth it when you get the rare moments that make it look like you have the zoo to yourself.  I also try and look for different ways to capture my kids at the zoo.  Here were some of my favorites! 

I love that my cautious Henry wouldn't go up close to the glass.   And this moment was magical to me!  Her little reflection of her face and hand and shirt in the glass.  Love.

There are sibling moments, brother moments....

And big brother little sister moments! And tiger moments!

Kind of tired and crabby moments...

We stayed to watch the new Hawaiian Monk Seal show and had time to get some cotton candy...the kid's first taste! This perked them up! Here is a peek at that adventure. 

And then we had to wash Syd's sticky fingers and dry them!

The only thing that could have made this trip better would have been if dad would have been able to join us.  Next time!
