My passion for photography began in the late 80’s when I received my first 35mm SLR camera. Enriching my knowledge of black and white photography throughout school, most of my college days were spent in a darkroom, and I was known for carrying my camera around everywhere I went.

After becoming a mother in 2001, I was always looking for new and unique ways of photographing my children. Constantly disappointed with the work of studios, and especially black and white portraiture, I decided to take matters into my own hands.

sarah ann photography started in 2002 with a focus on black and white portraiture of children and families. Business grew steadily to include the weddings of the families I was photographing. As word spread of my wedding photography, it soon became apparent that this niche would soon become my main focus.
